
This pleated belt pouch as another one of possible versions was common mainly in the area of southern Wales in about the 5th century. The bag has the form of a pouch. The flap is made of up to 2.5 mm thick cowhide. Another decorative accessory is a flap decorated up to the half with a woven basket. The pleated sides of the pouch are made of up to 1.8 mm thick soft leather. The closing is secured via a decorative Celtic staff.
