A Practical Pouch Made from Genuine Leather

The body is made from genuine suede leather with a pleasantly soft, textured surface. Its supple construction adapts to the objects carried inside and forms distinctive vertical folds when the opening is drawn closed. Two black leather tabs reinforce the upper section. They are secured with metal rivets and guide the sturdy leather drawcord through their lower holes.

Two belt loops on the back allow the pouch to be carried securely without occupying your hands. It is suitable for coins, gaming tokens, dice, keys, fire-lighting accessories, small toiletries and other personal items. Valuable or sharp-edged objects should be placed in a separate protective case to prevent damage to the leather.

Historical Inspiration and Use

Belt-hung pouches and purses were everyday accessories throughout medieval Europe. Since period garments generally lacked sewn-in pockets in the modern sense, people carried coins, keys, small tools and personal possessions in separate bags suspended from the belt. Simple drawstring purses were used by many levels of society, while the quality of the leather and the amount of decoration reflected the wealth and status of the wearer.

This pouch is not an exact reconstruction of one particular archaeological find. Its uncomplicated design and natural materials nevertheless suit historically inspired outfits from approximately the 10th to the 15th century, as well as fantasy and LARP equipment. It may be worn on its own or combined with a knife sheath, larger belt bag and other suspended accessories.

How to Attach and Use the Pouch

• Thread your belt through both loops on the back of the pouch.
• Position it at your side or slightly in front of the hip for easy access.
• Loosen the drawcord, open the mouth and place small objects inside.
• Pull both ends of the cord evenly until the leather sides gather together.
• During vigorous activity, secure the cord ends with a simple knot.

Care and Safe Use

Remove dust and dry dirt with a soft brush intended for suede. Allow small marks to dry before brushing them gently. Do not machine-wash the pouch, soak it in water or dry it on a radiator, beside a fire or in direct sunlight. The smooth leather sections may be treated sparingly with a suitable leather-care product. Always test any treatment on an inconspicuous area first.

Do not overload the pouch or place uncovered blades, points or sharp-edged objects inside it. It is not intended for storing food, liquids or hot items. Before running, fencing or taking part in stage combat, check that the cord is properly tightened and that the pouch remains securely attached to your belt.
