Universal Canvas Arm And Leg Wraps (Puttees) Made Of 100% Cotton
Historical Context And Practical Advantages Of Wraps
Wraps (puttees), or long strips of fabric wound around the limbs, were among the most widespread and practical clothing accessories in the Early Middle Ages across Europe. On the legs, they served as a predecessor to modern socks and gaiters—they firmly fixed loose trousers (often called braies or Thorsbjerg trousers) to the calf, prevented cold, snow, and mud from reaching the body, and protected the skin from abrasions. On the arms, they had a similar function; warriors used them to pull tight the wide sleeves of tunics so they wouldn't interfere with archery or fencing, while also serving as rough protection for the forearm against bowstring slap or minor scrapes. These specific wraps are made of a slightly coarser, yet still very pleasant and breathable 100% cotton, which does not cut into the skin when worn and absorbs sweat well.

How To Properly Care For Your Wraps
Thanks to the use of pure cotton, the maintenance of these wraps is very easy. They can be normally washed in a washing machine, but we recommend using lower temperatures (up to 40 °C / 104 °F) to prevent excessive shrinking of the material. Caution with deep colours: The black, green, and brown variants in particular may bleed slightly during the first few washes, so wash them separately from light-coloured laundry. The thoroughly hemmed edges guarantee that even with frequent washing and tying, the strips will retain their solid shape and will not start to fray unpleasantly.
Recommended Accessories
To ensure the leg wraps hold securely and don't slide down even during a frantic dash through the forest, we highly recommend purchasing decorative leg wrap hooks (e.g., made of brass or bronze), which will give your costume the hallmark of a true Norse warrior.
