Black Renaissance Leather Rapier Baldric with Belt and Custom Scabbard
Clever Design for Master Fencers
During the Renaissance, when rapiers and swords became an indispensable part of the attire of nobility and skilled duelists, the need for carrying them comfortably arose. Long blades classically suspended at the waist tended to get in the way when walking and tangle underfoot. Ingenious hangers, such as this one, solved the problem elegantly. The wide and ergonomically shaped base of the hanger holds the scabbard safely away from the body. Furthermore, the system of six leather straps allows you to set the perfect angle of inclination, so you can draw the sword with lightning speed without having to awkwardly manipulate the scabbard.
Custom Made Exactly for Your Blade
This set is the embodiment of honest saddlery craftsmanship. The scabbard itself is made from a single piece of high-quality leather, which is precisely stitched down the centre and then shaped on a so-called last to exactly follow the lines of the weapon. We always make the scabbard and hanger individually to measure for your specific rapier or sword. To guarantee that your weapon will sit in the sheath absolutely perfectly, we ask you to provide the following details in the notes of your order:
- Width and thickness of the blade right at the bell (guard).
- Total length of the blade that will be inserted into the scabbard.
- Width of the blade at half of its total length.
- Width of the blade exactly 10 cm (approx. 4 inches) from the tip.
- If the tip of your weapon is fitted with a safety button (rubber cap/swelling), please also state its size (width and thickness, or diameter).
- Your waist circumference for the correct adjustment of the belt length.

Leather Care and Safe Use
To ensure the leather serves you long and reliably, it requires regular maintenance. Use high-quality leather balms containing beeswax, which nourish the leather and protect it from moisture. Never dry a soaked hanger near a direct heat source (radiator, open fire); let it dry naturally at room temperature. From a safety perspective, we strongly warn that the scabbard does not have a hard wooden core. If you intend to insert a weapon with a sharp blade, careless handling carries the risk of cutting through the leather walls and causing serious injury. The set is primarily designed for blunt practice and stage combat weapons.
We highly recommend complementing this magnificent hanger with a decorated musketeer shirt and leather gloves from our range, bringing your Renaissance look to absolute perfection.
