A Design Forged for the Warrior

These pauldrons blend functionality with a striking fantasy aesthetic. They consist of several steel plates, articulated with rivets, allowing for good arm mobility. The dominant feature is the high, upward-curving edges of the top plates—the 'blade breakers.' These not only protect the neck area from downward-aimed strikes but also effectively deflect enemy weapons away from vulnerable areas. The surface is polished to a high shine, and the interior is blackened for corrosion resistance.

Comfortable Wear and Attachment

Each pauldron is equipped with a short leather strap and buckle on the top. This system allows for easy and secure attachment to a gorget or directly to a cuirass that has suitable attachment points. They are designed as a unisex, one-size-fits-all for adults. Thanks to their relatively light weight, they are comfortable for extended wear at LARP events or festivals.

An Interesting Fact: Blade Breakers – Fantasy or Reality?

While highly pronounced 'blade breakers' are often associated more with fantasy armor, historical plate armors, particularly in the late medieval and Renaissance periods, did indeed feature various forms of high neck guards and shoulder protectors (known as haute-pieces or gardbraces). These elements were designed to protect the vulnerable neck area and deflect sword or axe blows. This model thus combines practical inspiration from history with a dramatic fantasy appearance.

Caring for Your Plate Armour

As these pauldrons are made of mild steel, which is susceptible to rust, they require regular maintenance. After each use, dry them thoroughly and wipe them clean. For long-term protection, regularly treat the surface with a thin layer of oil (such as WD-40 or silicone oil) or wax. Store in a dry environment.
