It's a perfect example of a German military cut-and-thrust swept hilt sword carried by the Munich Town Guard around 1600. Munich Town Guard Sword

It has a well-tempered 1065 high carbon steel blade. The pommel and guard are made from steel and the grip is wood wrapped in twisted steel wire for a very firm hold. The blade is not sharpened.

This sword comes complete with a leather scabbard.
