This elegant pair of medieval spaulders provides an excellent addition to your armour, whether worn over a gambeson or a chainmail shirt. At first glance, their smooth, polished steel surface and the distinct decorative feature – a dark leather border firmly riveted along the bottom edge – are captivating. This border is imaginatively cut into regular fringes or scallops (approx. 5 cm long), which not only protects the underlying armour from scratches but also lends the spaulders an authentic look inspired by the 14th century. Each spaulder consists of a single piece of anatomically shaped plate that follows the contour of the shoulder well. Historical Context:
