The Story of the Black Prince
Edward, Prince of Wales (1330–1376), was the eldest son of King Edward III of England and one of the most successful English commanders of the Hundred Years' War. He reportedly earned his nickname from the colour of his armour. He was most famous for his decisive victory at the Battle of Crécy (1346). He was also a founding knight of the prestigious Order of the Garter, which still exists today. The design of this sword is based on his effigy on his magnificent tomb in Canterbury Cathedral, making it a grand tribute to this medieval hero.
Care and Maintenance
Thanks to the stainless steel blade, maintenance is very simple. To maintain its shine and beauty, we recommend keeping the sword dry and occasionally wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
Please note: This is a decorative replica and letter opener. The sword is not sharpened or intended for combat, fencing, or any other practical use as a weapon.
