This type of arrowhead is often classified alongside armor-piercing bodkins, yet its wider, diamond-shaped profile combines both piercing and cutting properties. During the High and Late Middle Ages, such heads were valued for their stiffness and ability to penetrate resilient armor layers like gambesons or mail. While needle bodkins were designed purely to burst mail rings, this sturdier "diamond" profile caused significantly more damage upon impact.

Assembly and Technical Details

Care and Safety
These arrowheads are made of steel, which is susceptible to rust. To keep them serving you well and looking great, follow these guidelines:
- Storage: Keep your arrows in a dry place. Moisture is the main enemy.
- Maintenance: After handling or before long-term storage, wipe the heads with a dry cloth and apply a thin coat of oil (e.g., gun oil, WD-40, or even vegetable oil).
- Cleaning: If surface rust appears, remove it gently with fine steel wool and re-oil the area.
Important Warning: Although these are replicas, they are made of solid metal, are heavy, and have a pointed tip. They are not designed for safe LARP combat (shooting at people) nor are they toys for children. Improper handling can result in injury. Always ensure a safe backstop and environment when shooting.
