Collectible Samurai Sword Set Daisho Black & White with Display Stand
Design and Historical Inspiration
During the era of feudal Japan, it was customary for a samurai to carry a pair of swords known as a daisho. The long katana was used for combat in open spaces, whilst the shorter wakizashi was ideal for close-quarters fighting or ceremonial purposes. This set faithfully reflects this historical tradition. The carbon steel blades feature an artificial temper line (hamon), which is created by a striking wavy cross-grind. The wooden scabbards (saya) are protected by a high-quality black lacquer, which sharply contrasts with the pure white wrap (tsuka-ito) on the handles. The decorative metal fittings, such as the handguard (tsuba) and the pommel (kashira), are crafted with fine attention to detail. The entire set is displayed perfectly on the included black wooden stand.
Important Safety Warning
This set is produced purely as an ornamental and collectible decoration. The swords are not intended for actual use! They are not suitable for fencing, martial arts training, or cutting tests (tameshigiri). The blades may be sharp, and handling them requires extreme caution. Improper use carries the risk of destroying the weapon and, most importantly, causing serious injury to yourself or those around you. Any handling of the weapons is entirely at your own risk.
Carbon Steel Maintenance
Even though these are decorative items, the blades are made from carbon steel, which is prone to rust without proper care. Human sweat contains acids that damage the steel, so do not touch the blades with bare hands. After drawing the sword from its scabbard, or if it is touched, it is recommended to wipe the blade carefully with a dry cloth and apply a thin layer of gun oil, or ideally traditional Japanese choji oil. Do not expose the set to extreme temperature fluctuations or high humidity.
