Exclusive Rose Damascus Folding Knife with Snakewood Handle
A Fusion of Modern Metallurgy and Rare Nature
The blade of this elegant piece consists of 71 layers of stainless steel. The core, forming the cutting edge itself, is made of quality 8Cr13MoV steel. This steel is valued for its ability to hold an edge while being easy to sharpen. The surrounding layers were intricately folded and twisted during forging to create a characteristic pattern on the surface resembling blooming roses.
The scales are made of Snakewood (Brosimum guianense), an exotic timber from South America, extremely prized for its grain resembling snakeskin. The wood is polished to a high gloss and feels pleasantly warm to the touch. The knife's construction is a classic Slipjoint – the blade has no mechanical lock; it is held in the open position by the strong pressure of the back spring. This spring and the spine of the knife are decorated with manual file work (guilloche), adding a touch of luxury to the knife.

History and Significance
Damascus steel was historically shrouded in myth for its ability to cut through a rifle barrel or a silk scarf floating in the air. Today's stainless Damascus steels are a tribute to this tradition, combining modern metallurgy with the ancient art of blacksmiths. The Snakewood used was so rare and expensive in 18th-century Europe that it was used as currency. To this day, it is used to make the most luxurious bows for violin virtuosos.
Care and Maintenance
Although the blade is made of corrosion-resistant steel, Damascus deserves care. After cutting acidic foods (citrus, apples), rinse and dry the knife. Occasionally apply a drop of oil to the knife pivot to ensure the mechanism runs smoothly. Mind the wooden handle: Snakewood is dense and hard, but it does not tolerate long-term soaking in water or extreme temperature changes. Never put the knife in the dishwasher! To revive the wood grain, you can polish the scales once in a while with beeswax. The knife comes with an elegant fabric pouch that protects it from scratches in your pocket.
Safety Warning: The knife does not have a mechanical lock (like a Linerlock or Backlock). When working with the knife, always apply pressure towards the cut; never use the knife for stabbing into hard materials to prevent the blade from closing on your fingers.
