Elegant Damascus Folding Knife with Burl Wood Handle and German Silver Bolsters
Harmony of Damascus Steel and Precious Wood
The blade of this knife is made of stainless Damascus steel, consisting of 39 layers. The core is formed by the proven 8Cr13MoV steel, which ensures excellent cutting performance and ease of sharpening. This core is protected on the sides by layers of folded steel, creating a characteristic pattern that is unique to every piece. The blade features an elegant, slightly curved shape, reminiscent of Persian knives, which enhances efficiency in slicing cuts.
The handle is a masterpiece in itself. It is clad in burl wood (root wood), prized for its hardness and unrepeatable "swirling" grain pattern. A striking contrast to the dark wood is provided by the bolsters made of Argentan (German Silver). The knife is equipped with a reliable Lockback mechanism, which securely fixes the blade in the open position.

What is Argentan?
The knife's bolsters are made of Argentan, also known as "German Silver" or Nickel Silver. It is an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc, historically developed as a cheaper, yet equally beautiful and durable substitute for sterling silver. In the 19th century, this material was widely used for manufacturing luxury cutlery, coins, and weapon fittings. Argentan does not corrode as easily as steel and possesses a pleasant, warm silvery lustre that acquires a fine patina over time.
Care and Maintenance
To keep this beauty looking its best, it requires a little attention. Burl wood is a natural material – treat it occasionally with beeswax or linseed oil to prevent it from drying out and to highlight the grain. Although the blade is stainless, rinse and wipe it dry after contact with aggressive substances (lemon, mustard). Lubricate the lock mechanism occasionally with a drop of oil. The German Silver bolsters can be polished with a soft cloth if they lose their shine.
Safety Warning: The knife is very sharp. When closing, ensure your fingers are clear of the blade's path. Use the knife for cutting, not for prying.
