Crusader Short Sword with Ornamental Scabbard

Eye-Catching Details

The blade is made of 420 stainless steel, ensuring it won't rust and will look like new without demanding maintenance. The black handle is decorated with a silver ring and finishes with a massive wheel pommel featuring a prominent gold cross – a clear symbol of faith and determination. The crossguard is elegantly curved towards the blade and features another detailed relief in gold color at its center. Included in the package is a black scabbard with richly decorated fittings on both ends (chape and throat) that match the style of the sword.

History and Inspiration

This type of short sword is not an exact replica of a specific archaeological find but is based on a romanticized vision of the weaponry of Crusader commanders. Historically, swords or daggers of similar length served as secondary weapons for close-quarters combat when a lance or longsword failed. The symbol of the cross on the pommel was crucial for knights – it reminded them of their oath, and in times of need, the sword stuck into the ground could serve as a makeshift cross for prayer.

Sword Care

Even though the steel is stainless, dust and fingerprints do not look good on it. Polish the sword occasionally with a soft cloth. If you take it outdoors in damp conditions, a thin film of silicone oil will help protect the blade.

Important Safety Warning

Please keep in mind that this is exclusively a decorative item. While the stainless steel blade is beautiful, it is brittle and not heat-treated (hardened) for impact. The sword is absolutely unsuitable for contact fencing, cutting objects, or combat training. Such use risks breaking the blade and causing injury. It serves only for display or as a costume accessory.

To make this beauty truly stand out on your wall, a wooden display plaque or stand might be useful for you.

Die 5 Sterne waren ein Versehen. An sich ein schönes Schwert aber die verbogene Klinge stört mich sehr.

Auch wenn es nur ein Dekoschwert ist, die Klinge war leicht gebogen....
