German "Lionhead" Officer's Saber – 19th/20th Century Replica
Symbol of Status and Construction
Sabers with a lion head were not just functional weapons but prestigious symbols of social status and military rank, often privately purchased by officers.
- Blade: The slightly curved blade is forged from carbon steel. While ground to shape, it is not sharpened to a razor edge, making it safe for display and costume use.
- Hilt: The dominant feature is the brass guard and pommel shaped like a roaring lion's head. The grip is wrapped in black leather and reinforced with twisted brass wire for a secure hold.
- Scabbard: Included is a polished steel scabbard with two suspension rings for easy attachment to a belt or hanger.
