Thor Tankard I – Viking Mug with Stainless Steel Insert
Design Worthy of Odin's Son
The outer shell of the tankard is made of durable polyresin mixed with basalt, giving it the appearance and texture of old bronze and dark stone. The surface is hand-painted to highlight every detail. The central motif is a relief of Thor's face with a stern expression, a beard, and the iconic (though historically romanticised) winged helmet. The relief is framed by Celtic knotwork and bold inscriptions "THOR" at the top and bottom. The handle is styled in the form of a dragon's neck, ensuring a firm grip.
Practical Use and Hygiene
Although it looks like an ancient artifact, this tankard is designed for modern comfort. Inside, there is a removable insert made of food-grade stainless steel.

Thor: Protector of Midgard

Interestingly, the winged helmet he wears on this tankard does not appear in historical Viking finds – it is an artistic license popularised in the 19th century, but today it is an inseparable part of Thor's image.
Care Instructions
To ensure the tankard lasts for ages, please follow these instructions:
- Washing: Always remove the stainless steel insert before washing. Only this metal part is dishwasher safe.
- Outer Shell: Wash the decorative resin part by hand only with lukewarm water. Never put it in the dishwasher and do not use chemical cleaners that could damage the hand-painted finish.
- Drying: Allow both parts to dry thoroughly before reassembling.
