Large Medieval Tankard Made Of Genuine Horn (600 ml)
Authenticity And Uniqueness Of Each Piece
In medieval Scandinavia and Northern Europe, horns were a common material for making drinking vessels. Unlike classic long horns, which require a stand or suspension, this tankard is equipped with a flat bottom (usually made of solid wood, horn, or resin), so you can safely place it on a table. Because the medieval horn tankard is made from the natural horns of ethically slaughtered cattle, absolutely every piece produced is completely unique. It will differ in its exact shape, colouring, and texture—from light, striated shades to deep black. The attached photos therefore serve only as an illustration; you will receive your own, unrepeatable original from the renowned manufacturer House of Warfare.

Important Rules For Maintenance And Safe Use
Horn is a delicate natural material composed of keratin, and therefore requires specific care so it doesn't crack. Although the inside of the tankard is treated with food-grade resin to prevent leaking, you must still observe the following principles:
- Before the very first use, wash the tankard thoroughly by hand under lukewarm running water using a mild detergent.
- The vessel is intended EXCLUSIVELY for cold or lukewarm drinks. Pouring hot tea, coffee, or mulled wine into it would irreversibly destroy the tankard (it would crack and the resin would detach).
- The maximum recommended alcohol content in the beverage is 20% (ideal for beer and mead, unsuitable for strong spirits).
- Never wash the tankard in a dishwasher! Do not leave it soaking in water for a long time, and dry it immediately after washing with a soft cloth.
- To maintain its shine and prevent drying and cracking, treat the outer surface after each use with a thin layer of natural beeswax.
