In the Middle Ages, particularly in the 14th and 15th centuries, pockets sewn directly into garments were not a common feature. All personal valuables, coins, tinder and flint, or small relics were carried suspended at the waist in pouches just like this. The two-colour design refers to the highly popular "mi-parti" fashion, where clothing and accessories were sewn from contrasting colour blocks, which expressed belonging to a certain noble house, city, or simply the fashion taste and wealth of the wearer. Since the product is hand-crafted from pure natural leather, minor variations in colour and surface texture are a natural characteristic and make each piece a unique original. If you get caught in the rain on a campaign, let the pouch dry naturally at room temperature. Never dry the leather near an open fire or on a radiator – this would cause it to irreversibly harden and crack. From a safety perspective, bear in mind that the soft leather is not internally armoured. Never carry sharp objects without a cover in the pouch (such as knives without a sheath or unsecured arrowheads), which could slice through the material and cause you an injury.
