Black Tall Leather Boots With Folded Cuff And Rear Lacing
Historical Context And Functional Design
From the 12th century onwards, footwear gradually began to lengthen, and tall boots became a sign of prestige and wealth. They protected the legs from mud, bad weather, and thorns when riding a horse or on long marches. These tall medieval boots feature a classic round toe, providing plenty of room for your toes even during all-day wear. The real jewel of this model, however, is the rear lacing running the entire length of the calf. This cleverly designed system eliminates the frequent problem of tall boots either slipping down or being too tight. The decorative folded cuff not only looks great but in the Middle Ages often served to hide small valuables or as protection against dirt entering the boot.

Leather Care
Leather is a natural material that loses its suppleness and lifespan without regular care. These boots require regular greasing with a high-quality leather balm (ideally containing beeswax) or a special cobbler's oil. This prevents the leather from drying out and increases its water resistance. After every outdoor event, clean the boots of mud. If the footwear gets wet, stuff it with old newspaper and let it dry very slowly at normal room temperature. Never dry the boots on a hot radiator, near a blazing fire, or in harsh direct sunlight! Rapid drying would irreversibly harden and crack the leather.
Recommended Accessories
To complement these luxurious tall boots, we highly recommend purchasing period chausses (leggings) from our range, which you can stylishly tuck inside the boots, and an elegant leather belt to complete the perfect look of a wealthy nobleman or merchant.
