Black Vintage Ladies Lace-up Boots 1930s With French Heel

A Jewel Of 1930s Shoemaking

Historically, these shoes represent the pinnacle of elegance in women's formal and evening footwear of the late 1930s. During this time, fashion was partially returning to more romantic and feminine silhouettes, which was also reflected in footwear. A typical element of luxurious evening models was the lacing with a wide fabric ribbon, which gave the shoe a light and festive character. The shaped, slightly curved heel (often referred to as a French or Louis heel) provided ladies with stable support while dancing, yet simultaneously made the foot look optically smaller and more delicate.

Craftsmanship And Technical Parameters

The upper of this elegant footwear is carefully crafted from high-quality genuine smooth leather, which will beautifully adapt to the shape of your foot as you wear it. For maximum comfort, the inside of the boot is lined with soft, light-coloured leather. The lacing is threaded through reinforced metal eyelets, guaranteeing a long lifespan even when the ribbon is pulled tight. The top edge of the boot is cut into elegant scallops that optically lengthen the leg.

Leather Care And Safety Guidelines

To ensure these beautiful boots retain their shine and elegance for many years, they require appropriate care. We recommend regularly cleaning the smooth leather with a soft, damp cloth and subsequently treating it with a high-quality black shoe polish. The polish nourishes the leather, covers minor scuffs from dancing, and gives the footwear a deep shine after buffing. The fabric ribbon can be carefully hand-washed if it becomes soiled.

Never dry leather footwear in the immediate vicinity of an open fire or on a hot radiator! Extreme heat will dry out the leather, causing it to harden and crack. Always dry them slowly at room temperature. Although the moderate heel is very stable, always exercise caution when walking or dancing on highly polished parquet floors or marble to avoid slipping.
