Traditional One-Piece Recurve Hunting Bow Black Antelope

Historical Legacy and the Evolution of Hunting Bows

One-piece recurve bows experienced their greatest technological boom in the United States during the 1950s and 1960s, a time when innovative bowyers and archers began to massively popularise bowhunting and instinctive shooting. The primary goal of these pioneers was to create a lightweight, quiet, and deadly accurate weapon with an ergonomic pistol grip that could withstand demanding woodland conditions. This product is a faithful reflection of those groundbreaking innovations, bringing a piece of mid-20th-century traditional hunting romance straight into your hands.

Preparation for Use and Range Safety

This bow is constructed as a single solid piece (non-takedown), which gives it immense structural strength and the elegance of flowing lines. To safely attach the included premium Flemish twist string, we strongly recommend using a bow stringer tool to prevent any dangerous twisting of the limbs. The package also includes an adhesive arrow rest that is installed on the shelf to protect the wood from abrasion. This weapon is primarily intended for practice shooting at 3D foam targets or classic straw bosses. Always prioritise safety and only shoot where you have a clear, wide, and unobstructed view of the area in front of and well behind your target.

Maintenance and What Absolutely Never to Do

To ensure this beautiful instrument serves you for many years in perfect condition, you must avoid fatal mistakes. Absolutely never release the string without an arrow nocked (known as dry firing)! Without an arrow, the immense accumulated energy has nowhere to transfer; it violently shocks back into the limbs, most likely causing the weapon to splinter, delaminate, or suffer irreversible damage. When you are not actively shooting and know you will not use it for a few days, always unstring the bow so the maple core and fibreglass can rest and maintain their tension. Carefully protect the bow from extreme temperatures—never leave it near a radiator or inside a scorching car during summer. We recommend regularly treating the Flemish string with beeswax.

We warmly recommend purchasing a traditional leather back quiver and a set of durable carbon or wooden arrows with natural fletching to complement this model, perfectly matching its rustic hunting character and 20th-century heritage.
