Horn Care and Important Safety Guidelines
Natural horn is a beautiful yet specific material that requires proper care. The inside of the horn is treated with a food-safe resin lacquer, which prevents the leakage of liquids and absorption of odours. Beverages such as beer, mead, wine, water, and non-acidic cold soft drinks are perfectly suitable for serving in this vessel. However, hot drinks and liquids with an alcohol content exceeding 20% are strictly prohibited, as they would irreversibly damage the internal protective layer.
- The product would be severely damaged if you were to wash it in a dishwasher or heat it in a microwave oven.
- Before the first use and after every subsequent drink, wash the horn exclusively by hand under running lukewarm water using a mild detergent.
- Please note that horn material can dry out over time. To maintain its flexibility and prolong its lifespan, we highly recommend treating the exterior of the horn with genuine beeswax after every use.
