An Authentic and Complete Set
You don't need to hunt for anything else. This set includes everything you need. The two long strips (368 cm each) of robust cotton fabric are carefully hemmed along the edges to prevent fraying and ensure a long lifespan. The included brass fibulae are simple, circular, and fully functional. They aren't just for show – you can easily pierce the fabric with the pin to secure the end of the wrap exactly where it needs to be.
How to Wear Them
Application is simple. Start wrapping at the ankle (you can tuck the end into your boot) and proceed in a spiral up to just below the knee. You can wrap them tightly, or with a slight overlap for a "bunched" look. Once you reach the top, simply pierce the end of the fabric with the included fibula and secure it. The wraps are worn over trousers (like Thorsberg trousers or simple early medieval trousers) and help to keep them fitted to the leg.
Historical Context: More Than Just Fashion
Leg wraps were an integral part of men's (and sometimes women's) clothing in the Early Middle Ages, especially from the 5th to the 11th century. They were extremely popular among the Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Franks, and Slavs. They served several functions: protecting the legs from cold and moisture, preventing loose trousers from snagging on branches in the woods, and providing support to the calf muscles during long walks. The Old English term "wīningas" has even survived, proving what a common part of everyday life they were.

Care Instructions
To ensure your leg wraps serve you well for a long time, please follow these guidelines:
- Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C.
- Protection: Place the wraps (ideally with the fibulae) in a wash bag before laundering to protect both the machine and the pins.
- Drying: Air dry only. Never put them in a tumble dryer – the high heat could shrink the cotton.
- Ironing: If necessary, iron on a medium setting (cotton programme).
