Combining History and Modern Materials

Throughout history, arrows were fletched exclusively with natural feathers, most commonly from geese or turkeys. While this provided excellent stabilisation, the feathers quickly lost their shape and flight properties in wet weather. This practice target arrow combines the traditional appearance of a wooden shaft with modern synthetic materials. The plastic vanes are completely maintenance-free, permanently hold their shape, and are unaffected by the weather. The arrow is fitted with a glued plastic nock for easy and quick nocking onto the bowstring, alongside a steel bullet-style field point. This aerodynamic point is highly gentle on targets and ensures easy retrieval from the material.

Safe Handling and Correct Usage

This model is constructed for use with bows with a maximum draw weight of 40 lbs (18 kg). Using a stronger bow is highly dangerous, as there is a severe risk of the shaft splintering right upon release. Remember that bows and arrows are not toys. Never aim at people or pets. Shoot exclusively at designated backstops, such as straw, foam, or stramit targets. Impacting wood, stone, or a wall will instantly destroy the steel point and snap the wooden shaft.

Maintenance of Wooden Arrows

Before every shot, visually inspect the arrow and perform a flex test (gently bending the shaft with both hands). If you hear a cracking sound or discover a splinter, immediately discard and break the arrow so no one else can accidentally use it. Wood is a natural material that reacts to moisture, so store your arrows in a dry place at room temperature. With this ammunition, we highly recommend purchasing a quality leather quiver and an arm guard, which will reliably prevent a painful slap from the bowstring.
