This drinking horn is crafted from ethically sourced natural horn, carefully selected for its durability and aesthetic quality. The surface is polished to a high gloss, highlighting the material's natural grain – ranging from deep black to marbled shades of white and grey. The interior is treated with a special food-safe resin, ensuring it is leak-free and that your drink retains its authentic flavour without any unwanted aftertaste.
Included in the set is a practical leather belt holder (frog). Care Instructions
Horn is a natural material that requires specific care to last for many years:
- Before first use: Rinse the horn with lukewarm water.
- Washing: Hand wash only with lukewarm water and mild soap. Use a soft bottle brush for the interior. Never put the horn in a dishwasher!
- Temperature: Horn is sensitive to extreme temperatures. Never fill it with hot drinks (tea, coffee, mulled wine), as this could cause the resin or the horn itself to crack.
- Alcohol: The horn is suitable for ale, mead, and wine. We do not recommend storing beverages with an alcohol content above 20% for extended periods, as this may damage the protective resin layer.
- Shine: To maintain its beautiful appearance, you can occasionally polish the outside with a small amount of vegetable oil.
