This rapier represents the pinnacle of civilian sidearm development during the Spanish Golden Age (Siglo de Oro) at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. Throughout this era, the rapier became an essential wardrobe item for gentlemen and cavaliers, carried both for personal defense and as a symbol of nobility during duels of honor. Hand-forged from 1065 high carbon steel, the blade is computer-heat-treated to 50–52 HRC to achieve a perfect balance of edge retention, toughness, and spring temper flexibility.

Engineered with an extra-wide full tang, the blade extends through the entire grip and is peened securely over a faceted pommel. The wooden grip core is hand-wrapped in blackened wire anchored by woven wire ring collars. The intricate Spanish-style swept hilt provides comprehensive hand protection during combat engagements. The blade is forged from 1065 high carbon steel. Although protected by a blackened stonewashed finish, it requires routine oiling to prevent corrosion. After handling, wipe the blade clean with a dry cloth and apply a thin layer of protective oil (such as mineral oil or Ballistol). Treat the leather scabbard occasionally with clear leather balm and store in a dry environment.
