While simple forged iron was typical of the early medieval period, more ornate cast iron came to the forefront in eras like the Baroque and later the Victorian. Installation is simple. Each handle has two mounting plates, each with two pre-drilled holes. Use the eight included screws (four per handle) to securely fasten them to the desired surface. When mounting in hardwood, we recommend drilling pilot holes to prevent splitting the wood.

Care for these cast iron handles is minimal. To clean, simply wipe them with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Although very sturdy, they primarily serve as handles for opening and should not be used as steps or anchor points for heavy loads.
