Design and Craftsmanship
This premium quality drinking horn combines natural beauty with artistic craftsmanship. The horn itself has a polished finish and a unique colour that transitions from light tones at the rim to dark at the tip. The dominant feature is the hand-painted red eye with a green iris, creating a magical and slightly sinister impression. The top rim is protected by a decorative brass band.
A practical belt holder is also included. It is made from black genuine leather and adorned with a brass plaque. Thanks to the lacing on the side, the holder adjusts to the shape of the horn. The horn comes in a black protective cloth bag with a drawstring and the Mythrojan logo.
History of Drinking Horns
Drinking horns were a common part of dining culture for many ancient peoples, including Vikings, Germans, Celts, and Saxons. They were not just practical vessels but often a status symbol. Richly decorated horns with precious metal fittings belonged to warriors and nobles. They were used at ceremonial feasts, rituals, and toasts to honour the gods. Wearing the horn on a belt was practical, as a warrior always had their cup to hand.

Caring for Your Drinking Horn (Important!)
To ensure your horn serves you for many years and stays beautiful, you must follow these rules. Horn is a natural material and cannot withstand extreme treatment.
How to Care for Your Horn
- Wash it by hand only using lukewarm water. A mild detergent can be used.
- Dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth immediately after washing.
- It is ideal for cold and lukewarm drinks like mead, beer, wine, water, and non-acidic soft drinks.
What to Absolutely Avoid!
- NEVER put the horn in a dishwasher. The heat and chemicals will destroy it.
- NEVER put it in a microwave.
- It is not intended for hot drinks (coffee, tea, mulled wine). They could damage the resin and the horn.
- Avoid liquids with an alcohol content above 20% and highly acidic drinks (like juices or sodas).
- Do not leave it soaking in water for long periods.
Please Note: This is a handmade product from a natural material. Each horn is an original and may vary slightly in colour, shape, and grain from the photograph.
