Proper Use and Crucial Horn Care
The horn is carefully treated on the inside with a special resin varnish that is fully certified for safe contact with food. It is perfect for serving cold drinks such as beer, mead, wine, water, or mildly acidic non-alcoholic beverages. However, hot drinks and liquids with an alcohol content above 20% are absolutely unsuitable, as they could severely damage the inner protective layer.
Please pay close attention to maintenance. The horn would be completely degraded and ruined by washing in a dishwasher or heating in a microwave oven. Therefore, always wash it solely by hand under running lukewarm water and strictly avoid soaking it for extended periods. Since it is a natural organic material that can naturally degrade or crack over time, we highly recommend treating it lightly with natural beeswax after each use to significantly extend its lifespan.
