Symbolism and Construction
This pauldron is not just an ordinary piece of armour. Its design is deeply rooted in Norse mythology. Yggdrasil, the immense ash tree, is the cosmic tree that runs through and connects all nine worlds. It is a symbol of life, the cosmos, and the interconnectedness of all things. Mjöllnir, the hammer of the god Thor, is one of the most powerful weapons in Norse mythology, capable of shattering mountains. For the Vikings, it was a symbol of protection, strength, consecration, and blessing.
The construction from genuine cowhide is two-part. The upper, smaller plate serves as an articulated joint and is riveted to the lower, main plate, which bears the embossing and covers the shoulder. The edges are carefully finished to prevent fraying and ensure a comfortable feel. The top fastening loop is wide enough for most straps on gorgets or cuirasses. The bottom elastic cord with a leather toggle allows for easy and quick tightening around the bicep.

Use and Care
This leather pauldron is designed for costume purposes. It perfectly complements your look at LARP events, fantasy festivals, Renaissance fairs, or when cosplaying as a Norse warrior, barbarian, or fantasy hero. Simply slide the top loop onto the shoulder strap of your gorget or cuirass. Then, fasten the pauldron to your upper arm using the bottom elastic cord.
Important Notice: This is a costume accessory. This leather armour is not certified protective equipment and is not intended for full-contact combat, buhurt (HMB), or the Battle of the Nations. It provides only basic protection within the context of LARP rules.
To ensure your pauldron serves you well and looks great for a long time, we recommend regular leather care. Protect it from prolonged exposure to moisture. If it gets wet, let it air dry at room temperature (never on a heater or in direct sunlight!). From time to time, you can treat it with a suitable leather care product, such as balm or wax, to keep it supple and durable.
For a complete look, we recommend combining this pauldron with other leather armour pieces, such as leather gorgets, bracers, or a leather cuirass.
