Guidelines for Safe Shooting and Bow Maintenance

The greatest danger to any compound bow is a dry fire. Never release the drawn bowstring without a properly nocked arrow. All the stored energy that would normally be absorbed by the flying arrow is destructively transferred back into the limbs and cams. This can lead to the immediate shattering of the limbs, bent cam axles, a snapped string, and very serious injury to the archer. Always use only undamaged arrows that are sufficiently heavy. To ensure your weapon serves you for many years, we recommend thoroughly treating the string with a special bowstring wax every 100 to 150 shots, preventing the fibres from drying out and fraying. Occasionally lubricate the metal cam axles lightly with a quality gun oil, and store the bow in a dry place away from extreme temperature fluctuations (for example, do not leave it in a hot car during summer).
