The blade consists of an extremely hard core made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, renowned for its excellent edge retention and ease of sharpening. This durable core is flanked on both sides by a jacket totalling 71 layers of stainless Damascus. Historically, Damascus steel was prized for its incredible flexibility and sharpness; today, it is sought after primarily for its magnificent visual effect, reminiscent of flowing water or wood grain. A unique feature of this model is the front bolsters, which, unlike ordinary knives, are also crafted from this noble layered Damascus steel.

Safety and Practical Use

The folding knife is equipped with a traditional nail nick on the blade for easy and classic two-handed opening. Ensuring your safety during work is a highly reliable Lockback mechanism. Once the blade is fully deployed, the lock snaps firmly into place with a characteristic click, completely eliminating the risk of accidental closure on your fingers. Please remember, however, that while the knife is robust, it is under no circumstances intended for heavy prying, chopping bones or hard wood, or throwing. It serves primarily as an elegant cutting tool for everyday carry (EDC).

Caring for Damascus and Olive Wood

Although both the blade and bolsters are made from stainless materials, we recommend keeping the knife dry and clean. Under no circumstances should you wash the knife in a dishwasher, as harsh detergents and high temperatures would irreversibly ruin the etched Damascus pattern and the natural wood. After use, simply wipe the blade with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly. The olive wood scales feature a beautiful natural grain and a subtle scent. To prevent the wood from drying out and cracking over time, it is advisable to occasionally treat it lightly with linseed oil, or even high-quality olive oil. You can keep the blade's action perfectly smooth by applying a small drop of knife oil directly into the pivot joint.
