Construction and Features

The shirt is constructed from flattened aluminum rings that are individually riveted shut. This is a crucial detail: unlike cheaper "butted" aluminum mail that falls apart under stress, the rivets provide structural integrity, ensuring the rings stay closed during active movement. The rings have an outer diameter of approximately 1/2 inch (12.5 mm). The chemical darkening process gives the metal a realistic, gunmetal-grey finish, eliminating the tell-tale shiny look of standard aluminum.

Usage and Comfort

This is a full-sleeved hauberk reaching approximately to the knee. Weighing in at only about 13.5 lbs (approx. 6 kg), it allows for all-day wear with minimal fatigue.

Recommended Accessories

We strongly recommend wearing a padded gambeson underneath to prevent chafing and improve the fit, along with a sturdy leather belt to distribute the weight from your shoulders to your hips.
