Decorative Flower Studs for Leather, 5-Pack | Antique Brass Rivets

The Perfect Detail for Your Creations

Each stud is shaped like a stylized six-petal flower, with a design that is intricately detailed. Some of the petals feature a fine cross-hatch texture, creating an interesting contrast with the smooth sections and giving the stud a sense of depth. The antique look is enhanced by the patinated finish, making your leather accessories look like prized artefacts. These adornments are perfect for belts, bags, pouches, bracers, and even for decorating book covers or other craft projects.

How to Attach the Studs

Installation is straightforward. On the back of each flower is a sturdy post. Simply make a hole of the appropriate diameter in your leather, push the post through, and peen it over a washer on the reverse side with a hammer. This creates a strong, permanent bond. Your creativity is the only limit!

Important Note: The metal washers required for peening are not included in the package. These must be sourced separately.

Decorations Through the Ages

Throughout history, metal adornments and fittings were an indispensable part of leather goods. They served not only as decoration but also to reinforce high-stress areas on belts, shoes, and bags. Richly decorated belts were a symbol of the owner's social status and wealth. Floral motifs have been among the most popular across the centuries, symbolizing the beauty of nature, life, and growth.

Did you know that floral motifs weren't just reserved for women's dresses and jewellery? In the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, floral patterns, including stylized flowers, were a common feature on men's belts, elements of armour, and even weapon hilts.

How to Care for Your Studs

These studs are made of solid brass that will retain its beauty for many years. Their patinated surface is intentional and adds to their authenticity. If you wish to restore their shine, you can carefully polish them with a soft cloth and a polishing agent suitable for brass. However, avoid harsh abrasive pastes that could scratch the fine details.
