The famous general has established with this sabre the tradition of sabrage, when the throats of champagne bottles were knocked off after a victorious battle in 1812. This saber was delivered as a weapons shipment from France to America to support the Continental Army.The saber has a forged, unsharpened blade made of carbon steel. The handle parts are made of brass. The sabre comes with a scabbard with brass fittings.
