Materials and Construction

The heart of this knife is a blade made of stainless Damascus steel, consisting of 71 layers. To ensure the knife is not only beautiful but also devilishly sharp and durable, the core (the cutting layer) is made of high-quality 8Cr13MoV steel. This ensures excellent cutting performance and ease of maintenance. A unique feature is that the front bolster of the handle is also made from the same Damascus steel, creating a beautiful visual transition.

The handle scales are crafted from Zebrawood (Zebrano). This hard exotic wood is characterized by its distinct dark stripes on a golden background, which perfectly complements the layered steel. Safety is ensured by the classic and time-tested Backlock mechanism on the spine of the handle, which reliably locks the blade in the open position.

What is Damascus Steel?

Damascus steel, historically shrouded in myth, is created by forge-welding (folding) multiple layers of steel with different properties. The result is a material that combines hardness and toughness. The characteristic pattern on the surface is created by etching, as each layer reacts differently. Historically, such weapons were reserved only for kings and the wealthiest warriors.

Care and Maintenance

Even though it is made of stainless steel, such a gem deserves care:

• Cleaning: Only wipe the knife with a damp cloth and dry it immediately. Never wash it in a dishwasher!
• Wood: Occasionally revive the Zebrawood scales with a drop of linseed or teak oil. This prevents drying and highlights the grain.
• Mechanism: Apply a drop of machine oil to the pivot and lock occasionally to ensure smooth operation.
