Authentic Cut and Fit
Unlike modern trousers, chausses are two separate legs that must be tied to a belt (usually the breech girdle of the braies). This historical design prevents restrictions when riding or fighting. These chausses come with a full foot. Pro Tip: If the foot size does not fit you perfectly, the historical solution is simple—cut off the tip of the foot and hem it, or modify it to fit. It was common to customize gear this way.
Material and Colors
Made of sturdy cotton (often with a linen-like texture), these chausses are durable and breathable. In the Middle Ages, it was fashionable to choose legwear colors that contrasted with the tunic. Laces for attachment are not included.

- Use a mild detergent to preserve natural dyes.
- Turn inside out before washing and air dry.
Recommended Accessories
To wear these correctly, you will need a pair of medieval braies (underwear) and leather laces or arming points to tie the chausses to the braies' belt.
