Usage and Classification
This sword is classified as Class C for historical fencing. It is suitable for non-contact drills, reenactment costumes, or display purposes. The carbon steel blade is blunt for safety but is not tempered for the rigours of full-contact stage combat. Using it for heavy hitting may result in damage not covered by warranty. The sword comes with a wooden scabbard, wrapped in leather and finished with a metal throat and chape.
Maintenance
To preserve the steel and leather:
- Wipe the blade clean and oil it regularly to prevent rust.
- Avoid storing the sword in damp conditions.
- Apply leather conditioner to the grip and scabbard occasionally.
