Modular Pole Sections for LARP Polearms (Spear, Voulge, Halberd)

Appearance and Materials

All pole sections feature a surface made from high-quality and durable PUR foam, faithfully imitating the texture of dark wood. This lends an authentic look to the assembled weapon, suitable for both fantasy and historical LARPs. They have a comfortable handle circumference of 11 cm. The connection between sections and the head is secured by a strong and reliable 304 stainless steel screw thread (the length of the exposed thread is 2 cm).

Advantages of the Dreki Megin Modular System:

  • Easy Repairs: Is part of your weapon damaged? No need to buy a whole new one; simply replace the damaged pole section or head.
  • Customisation: By combining different lower sections with the upper pole and a head, you can easily adjust the length and balance of your weapon.
  • Variability: Use one set of poles for multiple head types (spear, voulge...) and save money.
  • Quality and Durability: The materials used (PUR foam, carbon fibre, fibre glass, stainless steel) ensure a long lifespan and safety for LARP use.

Interesting Fact from the World of LARP

The ability to easily replace damaged parts is a significant advantage for active LARPers. Anything can happen in the heat of battle, and having to retire a favourite weapon due to a broken shaft or damaged head is disappointing. Modular systems like this elegantly solve the problem, allowing for quick and more affordable repairs.

How and Where Can You Use These Parts?

  • Building a New Weapon: Combine an upper and lower pole section with any compatible Dreki Megin head (sold separately).
  • Repairing a Damaged Weapon: Replace a cracked or otherwise damaged pole section with a new one.
  • Changing Length: Already own a weapon but want it longer or shorter? Purchase a different lower pole section and easily convert it.
  • Experimenting with Balance: Different lengths of lower sections have counterweights of varying heaviness, affecting the overall balance and handling of the weapon.

Principles of LARP Replica Care (Including Parts)

  • Storage: Store parts horizontally or vertically in a way that prevents bending and foam deformation.
  • Cleaning: Keep parts clean by wiping them with a damp cloth. Keep threads clean for easy screwing.
  • Maintenance: To protect the foam, you can use silicone oil intended for LARP. Regularly check the core's condition (for cracks) and the integrity of the foam surface.
  • Environment: Protect parts from extreme temperatures and prolonged humidity.

Principles of Safe Use (When Assembled)

  • Check Before Use: Before each event, firmly tighten the screw connections between the sections and the head. Check that no part is cracked or otherwise damaged.
  • Use Only Compatible Parts: Only combine original Dreki Megin system parts designed to connect.
  • Respect the Rules: Even with a safe LARP weapon, always fight considerately, with controlled force, and aim only at permitted zones according to the specific event's rules.

These replacement pole sections allow you to keep your Dreki Megin modular weapon in perfect condition and customise it exactly to your preferences!
