Breathe Life into Your Leatherwork
This bronze fitting is not just for decoration; it's a fully functional component. You can use it to join leather straps, reinforce stress points, or simply as an elegant embellishment. Its universal design makes it perfect for a wide range of projects—from re-enactment costumes and LARP armour to original leather goods for everyday wear.
Installation is Easy
Attaching these studs is straightforward and can be managed even by a beginner. Just follow these steps:
- Mark the spot on the leather where you want to place the stud.
- Use an awl or a punch to create a suitable hole in the leather.
- Push the post of the stud through the hole.
- On the reverse side, carefully peen the post with a hammer against a metal surface to create a strong, permanent bond. For an even better finish, you can use a rivet setter.
A Touch of History on Your Belt
Floral motifs were extremely popular during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. They can be found on clothing, jewellery, weapons, and everyday objects. The six-petal flower often symbolised vitality, growth, beauty, and the continuity of life. Decorative fittings like these were a common feature on the belts of nobles, knights, and wealthy townspeople from the 12th to the 16th centuries, signifying the owner's social status and taste.
Lost-Wax Casting: The Art of the Old Masters
Each piece is made using the ancient technique of lost-wax casting (cire perdue). This process, over 6,000 years old, allows for an exceptional level of detail that would be impossible to achieve with other methods. A wax model is used to create a mould, into which molten bronze is then poured. The result is a precise and smooth casting that is then hand-finished to its final form.

Care and Maintenance
Bronze is a durable material that develops a natural patina over time, which enhances its historical authenticity. If you wish to maintain a shiny appearance:
- Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture.
- Clean it gently with a dry, soft cloth.
- To restore its shine, you can use a special polishing paste for non-ferrous metals.
Please Note: When installing, never strike the decorative head of the stud directly, as this could damage it. Always peen the post on the back. Do not use aggressive chemicals or abrasive cleaners (like sand or steel wool), which could permanently scratch the surface.
