Universal Medieval Tunic with Short Sleeves, Natural Cotton
The Cornerstone of Your Wardrobe
The strength of this tunic lies in its incredible versatility. It is a true chameleon that adapts to your character and role.
- Universal Base Layer: Wear it on its own, cinched with a simple belt, for the look of a humble peasant, artisan, or pilgrim.
- Under-Armour Garment: Its breathability and comfortable fit make it the ideal undershirt for a gambeson, mail hauberk, or cuirass.
- For Men and Women: The unisex design fits everyone. Women can belt the tunic at the waist to create a flattering silhouette, as was common in history.
- Natural Appearance: The unbleached, cream colour has an authentic look and combines excellently with other natural materials like leather, wool, and linen.
A Glimpse into History: The Tunic Through the Ages
For centuries, the simple T-shaped tunic was the absolute foundation of European clothing. It was worn by practically everyone – from poor peasants to kings, men, women, and children. The difference lay mainly in the quality and colour of the fabric. While the wealthy could afford fine, brightly dyed linen or wool, the majority of the population wore tunics made of coarser, unbleached, or earth-toned fabric, just like this model. The cut with short sleeves and a mid-thigh length was particularly practical for work and combat, as it did not restrict movement and was not too hot in the summer.
How to Care for Your Tunic
As this is 100% natural cotton, you should be aware of its natural properties. Proper care will ensure your tunic serves you for a long time.
- Washing: Machine wash at a maximum of 40°C (104°F). Wash dark colours separately.
- Drying: You can tumble dry on a low setting, but for a longer lifespan, we recommend air drying.
- Ironing: Iron on a medium heat setting.
- IMPORTANT NOTICE: As a natural cotton product, it may shrink by up to 5% on the first wash. Please take this into account when choosing your size!
