Classic Feel with Modern Durability
This arrow represents a bridge between history and the present day. While the shaft is made of natural wood, giving the arrow a traditional look and feel upon release, the fletching is modern plastic. Historically, natural feathers (goose or turkey) were used, but they are susceptible to moisture and damage. The plastic vanes fitted on this arrow are virtually maintenance-free, hold their shape, and are unaffected by morning dew or light drizzle. The arrow is finished with a glued plastic nock and a metal "bullet" style target point, designed to be easily removed from the target while causing minimal damage to it.
Usage and Practical Advice
The arrow is constructed for bows with a maximum draw weight of 40 lbs. Using it with a heavier bow could result in the shaft snapping upon release, potentially causing injury. It is ideal for target practice, backyard archery, or light recreational competitions. Please note, this is not a toy, but a piece of sporting equipment.
To ensure your arrows serve you well for a long time, please follow these rules:
- Suitable Targets: Always shoot only at designated targets (straw, foam, compressed board). Shooting at wooden planks, trees, walls, or rocks will lead to the immediate destruction of the point or splitting of the shaft.
- Pre-shot Check: Visually inspect the arrow and flex it slightly (the so-called flex test) before nocking it every time. If you hear creaking or see a crack in the wood, discard the arrow immediately and break it so no one else uses it. Shooting a damaged wooden arrow is dangerous!
- Safety: Never aim at people or animals. Although the arrow has a "blunter" sport point, it carries enough energy when fired from a bow to cause serious injury.
For a comfortable shooting experience, we recommend that you also acquire a back or hip quiver and an armguard to protect you from the painful slap of the bowstring.
