Square Pyramid Head Clavos, Cast Iron Door Studs, 25mm - Set of 6

Robust Geometric Design

Each nail features a solid square head measuring 25 x 25 mm (1 x 1 inch). Its surface is structured in a grid of nine (3x3) small pyramids, creating a stunning three-dimensional effect and a play of light and shadow. The nails are made from cast steel, which guarantees both the detailed execution of the pattern and exceptional durability. The authentic blackened finish enhances the rustic character and protects the metal from corrosion.

Where They Look Their Best

These square studs are ideal for creating regular, geometric patterns. Use them to embellish a solid wooden gate, an entrance door, or as corner accents on large chests and cabinets. Their industrial look also stands out on furniture in a den, on bar panelling, or as decoration for a fireplace mantel or heavy-duty wooden shelves.

A Nod to Craftsmanship and Defence

Large nails with massive, often square heads have always been a key element of fortifications. On medieval and colonial gates and doors, they served not only as fasteners but primarily as a form of defence—their dense arrangement reinforced the wood against the blows of axes and battering rams. This geometric and robust design is therefore a reference to a time when craftsmanship had to be not only beautiful but, above all, functional and durable.

A Fascinating Historical Fact

Interestingly, the doors of medieval castles were often constructed from several layers of thick oak planks. These layers were held together by hundreds of large iron nails just like these. The nails not only held the structure together, but their heads also acted as additional armour, designed to deflect and disable the blades of attackers' swords and axes.

Installation and Care

How to Install the Product

When installing into hardwood, we recommend pre-drilling a pilot hole slightly smaller in diameter than the nail's spike to prevent the wood from splitting. Then, gently tap the nail in with a rubber mallet or use a hammer with a piece of cloth or wood over the nail head to avoid damaging its textured surface.

How to Care for the Product

To maintain the nails, simply wipe them with a dry cloth. If used outdoors, you can occasionally treat the surface with a preservative oil or wax to enhance protection.

What to Note

Please remember that these are primarily decorative studs. Do not use them for load-bearing joints that would be subject to significant weight or tension.
