Historical Context and Purpose
Gothic footwear from the 14th and 15th centuries was famous across the European continent and the British Isles for its elongated toes, often referred to as poulaines or crakows. These specific shoes represent a more moderate and practical variant worn by wealthier burghers or nobility for everyday wear. The cutout on the instep made them easier to put on, and fastening them with a simple strap provided good foot stability as well as the necessary breathability during warm summer days.

Thanks to the tread, they will provide you with excellent stability. Remember, however, that these are historical walking shoes. The boots are not intended for heavy combat deployment, for forceful full-contact fencing, or as protection in a buhurt melee. Never dry them directly by an open fire or on a hot radiator; the natural leather could dry out, crack, and be permanently ruined.
Leather Care Instructions
The product is already treated from the factory with a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax. To ensure the leather retains its natural suppleness, beautiful appearance, and moisture resistance, we recommend regular treatment with smooth leather care products. The balm nourishes the leather, softens it, and slightly darkens it. To cover minor scuffs (for example, kicked toes) and unify the colour, you can also use a standard high-quality brown shoe polish.
