Gothic Leather Boots With Pointed Toe And Side Lacing
Historical Context And Practical Use
Shoes with elongated toes, known as poulaines or crakows, were a massive fashion trend in Europe from the late 12th to the late 15th century. The longer the toe, the higher the social status of the wearer. Our model represents a more practical, moderate variant worn by common soldiers, craftsmen, and lesser nobility. These historical leather boots are ideal for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), Re-enactment, LARP, and Cosplay. For modern use and improved safety on contemporary surfaces (wet grass, cobblestones), the boot features a discreet styropor rubber outsole. It provides excellent traction without ruining the period look.

Sizes And Custom Tailoring
You can choose these mid-calf boots from our standard EU sizes. If standard sizes do not fit you, or you simply prefer absolute comfort, we also offer a custom tailoring service. Just select the custom size option when ordering, and carefully fill out our measurement chart once your order is complete. If you wear orthopaedic insoles, you must send them to us in advance so our cobbler can perfectly integrate them into the footbed during production.
Leather Care And Important Warnings
To ensure these boots serve you for many seasons, proper care is essential. Leather is a natural material that requires nourishment. Regularly treat them with a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax or leather oil. The balm softens and waterproofs the leather, giving it a darker, more authentic shade. Minor scuffs from sword fights can be easily masked with tinted shoe polish. If the boots get wet, stuff them with newspaper and let them dry slowly at room temperature. Never dry the boots on a radiator, near an open fire, or in direct, harsh sunlight! Rapid drying would irreversibly damage the leather, causing it to crack and harden.
Recommended Accessories
For maximum comfort during long marches and chilly evenings by the campfire, we recommend purchasing historical wool socks or leg wraps (puttees) to complement your medieval outfit.
