Historically, similar massive hangers were produced for practical use on farms, manors, and ordinary homesteads, where they had to withstand the daily load of wet wool cloaks, heavy satchels, and horse harnesses. The traditional appearance is enhanced by an authentic surface finish, which is created by an oil blackening process. This traditional procedure protects the material against weather conditions and gives it a characteristic rustic patina. Due to manual finishing, individual pieces in the set may vary slightly in shape and texture, giving each hook a mark of originality.

Proper Installation and Safe Household Use

Both hooks from the set will find wide application in any modern or historically themed household. They are perfect as holders for keys, umbrellas, or towels, and thanks to their shape, they form an absolutely ideal resting place for dog leashes and collars. Installation is very straightforward and can be managed with common tools. In the package, you will find four wood screws (two for each hook) with which the hardware is securely attached to a wooden board, door, or panelling. For secure attachment to masonry, we recommend using appropriate wall anchors (not included in the delivery). Always ensure that the mounting surface is sufficiently solid. Avoid extreme overloading of the hooks and do not hang items that could cause the screws to tear out of the wall to prevent possible injury or property damage.

Care and Maintenance for Longevity

To ensure your cast steel hooks retain their original and unique appearance, they require only absolute minimum care. Dust and normal dirt can simply be wiped off with a dry, or very slightly dampened soft cloth. Under no circumstances should you use aggressive chemical cleaners, wire wool, or abrasive sands, which could irreversibly disrupt the protective oil layer and cause unwanted corrosion. When installed in a more humid environment, it is advisable to occasionally treat the metal surface gently with a cloth containing a drop of linseed oil or high-quality gun oil.
