Never dry the leather near a direct heat source (radiator, hairdryer, the open flames of a campfire), otherwise it could harden, become brittle, and crack.

The scabbard is made of massive leather; however, please bear in mind that the interior does not contain a wooden core. If you are housing a sword with a sharply honed blade, handle the weapon with the utmost caution. Inserting the blade roughly or carelessly could cause the sharp point to pierce the leather and cause injury.
