This pair of Milanese style iron armor arms is made from 1.6mm thick carbon steel. The arms are worn so that they are laced onto the arming jack or quilted tunic with the upper leather tongues, then they are attached to the arms with 3 leather straps with iron buckles over the upper arm, elbow and forearm. The inside of the metal arms is blackened against corrosion. Italianate style armor was common not only in Italy but throughout Europe. The best examples of armor were made in Milan, where it was intended for the local nobility and wealthy people from across Europe.
