As a born warrior and fearless leader, Uhtred wields this unique sword with its distinct amber pommel to strike down his enemies on the battlefield. Although this is a fantasy weapon inspired by popular literature and television, its fundamental design elements are based on real historical swords from the Migration Period and the Viking Age. The broad blade with a pronounced fuller and the massive crossguard echo early medieval weapon typologies that provided devastating cutting power in combat. However, the most striking feature is undoubtedly the pommel, which houses a tiny insect trapped in the faux amber. This artistic detail gives the weapon a mystical and ancient appearance.
Safety Guidelines and Proper Use
We must strongly emphasise that the blade of this sword is made of stainless steel. For safety reasons, this is strictly a decorative product and is absolutely unsuitable for any practical use. It must never be used for contact historical fencing (HEMA, buhurt, stage combat) or cutting tests. Stainless steel is brittle, and striking it against another weapon or hard object could cause the blade to shatter, potentially leading to severe injuries to yourself or bystanders. This product is intended solely as a luxurious interior display piece or as an carefully carried prop for cosplay.
Care and Wall Installation
The sword comes complete with a beautiful wooden wall display plaque featuring a thematic historical print. When installing it on your wall, please ensure you use sufficiently strong wall plugs and screws to safely support the combined weight of the weapon and the plaque. Maintaining the sword is very simple. Thanks to the stainless steel blade, it is highly resistant to corrosion. Simply dust the weapon regularly with a dry, soft cloth. The leather-wrapped grip can be occasionally treated with a quality leather balm to maintain its suppleness and natural appearance.
