This small Viking Age utility sax knife (also known as a broken back seax owing to its particular blade shape) has a short, hand-forged high carbon steel blade with a thick spine. The beautifully adorned bone grip, which is polished and etched on both sides with a handsome Norse motif, is a real eye-catcher. It terminates towards the blade with a brass collar, and the butt cap, also made of brass, features a convenient eyelet with a generously sized brass ring for threading a lanyard or drawing the knife from its sheath (lanyard not included).
