A Masterpiece of Damascus Steel
The magic of this pocket knife lies in its sophisticated construction. The blade consists of a hard core made of proven 8CR13 MoV stainless steel, which excels in edge retention and ease of sharpening. This core is protected on the sides by a jacket of a total of 71 layers of stainless Damascus. Historically, Damascus steel was produced by forging layers of softer and harder steel to combine flexibility with extreme sharpness. Today, it is primarily a magnificent visual element that refers to ancient blacksmithing art. However, a true rarity of this model is the back spring, which is not only beautifully decorated with filework but is also made of layered Damascus steel, which is far from common in folding knives.
Safety and Reliability with the Lockback Mechanism
The knife is equipped with the traditional and highly secure Lockback mechanism. Upon opening the blade, the spring latch drops into a notch in the tang of the blade with a characteristic click. Thanks to this, the blade is firmly fixed, and there is no risk of it accidentally closing on your fingers during work. To release the blade, simply press the rear part of the spring on the spine of the handle. The tool is ideal for everyday carry (EDC), whether it's for slicing food, opening packages, or cutting ropes.
Caring for the Blade and Olive Wood
Although both the blade and the back spring are made of stainless materials, we recommend keeping the knife clean and dry. The blade is not intended for heavy prying or chopping hard materials. The wooden scales made from olive trees have a beautiful natural grain and a subtle scent. To prevent the wood from drying out and cracking, it is advisable to occasionally wipe it lightly with a natural oil (e.g., linseed oil, or even high-quality olive oil). You will please the knife's mechanism and pivot by lubricating it occasionally with a drop of knife oil. Under no circumstances should you wash the knife in a dishwasher; the aggressive chemicals would ruin both the wood and the delicate Damascus pattern.
